The Julian Assange Show: Rafael Correa (E6)

This week, Julian Assange talks to the President of Ecuador, Rafael Correa. Correa is a left wing populist who has changed the face of Ecuador. But unlike his predecessors he holds a Ph.D. in economics. According to US embassy cables, Correa is the most popular President in Ecuador's democratic history. But in 2010 he was taken hostage in an attempted coup d'etat. He blames the coup attempt on corrupt media and has launched a controversial counter-offensive. Correa says the media defines what reforms are possible. Assange tries to figure out is Ecuadorian president justified and what is his vision for Latin America.

Apple's 1984 spoof of 'Ghostbusters' goes after IBM

This is a 4-minute, uncut version of "Blue Busters", a 1984 takeoff on 'Ghostbusters' that Apple produced to show at the opening of its worldwide sales staff meeting in Hawaii in October 1984. The video includes a cameo appearance by Steve Wozniak. Our thanks to Craig Elliott, former Apple employee now CEO and co-founder of cloud-computing startup Pertino Networks, for giving us access to this video.

Also shown at that meeting was another film in which Steve Jobs impersonates FDR. That film can be seen here:

Richard Stallman: CISPA nearly abolishes people's right not to be unreasonably searched

Soon, Americans may find every private email they write could be opened, copied and inspected by government snoopers. The latest cyber security bill - called CISPA - has passed the House of Representatives, coming a step closer to becoming law. President Barack Obama has threatened to veto the act, if it goes through in the Senate. He cited civil liberty concerns as the reason for his threat. CISPA has raised a massive outcry with internet users and freedom activists, who say it's a hard hit on people's privacy. Reaction now from Dr Richard Stallman, who's President of the Free Software Foundation. He's in Tunis.
